New Garden Fields

Three Quarter Time track 7

Vaughan Williams collected two versions of New Garden Fields on consecutive days in April 1904, at East Horndon in Essex. We sing the version collected from Mr Broomfield, a woodcutter, which is included in Roy Palmer’s Folk Songs collected by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

You can find a solo version of this song at A Folk Song A Week Week 208 – New Garden Fields.
