Johnny so long at the fair

Oxford Ramble track 7

Morris tune from Bampton in Oxfordshire.

A recording of the tune, played on the fiddle by Bampton fiddler Arnold Woodley, can be heard on Voice of the People Volume 9: Rig-A-Jig-Jig - Dance Music of the South of England (Topic TSCD 659). Reg Hall's liner notes comment "The tune to a well-known song of the same name... Obviously popular in Bampton, since both Charlie Tanner and Son Townsend have been collected singing it, and its tune is used for one of their double-side-step dances".

Followed by Eynsham Poaching Song

Played by Mat Green on a fiddle which formerly belonged to Sam Bennett of Ilmington
